In the spring of 2004, Mr. Daps founded Daps Magic as a positive place on the internet where people could celebrate their love of Disney and positive stuff in a safe environment. A long-time student of Disney and leadership, Mr. Daps wanted to build a culture of kindness for fans of Disney and beyond. A journalist in college, Mr. Daps soon found that rather than using his music and history studies, he was using journalism as he covered the Disneyland Resort. Through the years this has expanded to cover the rest of The Walt Disney Company and other topics that are positive and intriguing. This includes Knott’s Berry Farm, Star Trek, programs on Apple TV+, and more!
As Daps Magic was building, Mr. Daps was also an executive in the media industry where he oversaw television, communications, and direct mail campaigns. Early in the morning and late at night he would devote to Daps Magic. In 2022, he stepped back from the rat race to devote his full-time efforts to Daps Magic. The experience has been rewarding and a lot of fun. Daps Magic continues to be a positive place that covers Disney and other topics. Along with offering news, there are many other topics that interest Mr. Daps now on the site. This includes Disney history, food and cooking (he loves to cook) in the Geek Eats section, and much more!
We also love using Daps Magic to make a positive impact in the world. At the end of the day, the culture of Daps Magic is not just positivity but also kindness. We want to be kind and we want to make a difference. We do this with our interactions with friends and new friends in the parks. We also do this by supporting the CHOC Walk in the Park each year at the Disneyland Resort. This raises funds for the Children’s Hospital of Orange County to provide care and support for the children and their families who visit this hospital (Walt Disney himself was one of the founders!).
Mr. DAPs is an amateur photographer who has enjoyed taking photos worldwide. Photos from these adventures are shared on this blog and also on MrDaps.com. He also has a love of trains and is building two model railways. One is in his garage and is HO-Scale. The other is a G-scale (gauge) train that is being built in his backyard. Both of these hobbies can be found on this page. If you’d prefer one or the other, you can find them here:
