Halloween comes to Disneyland this weekend! While this year I’m lucky enough to be able to visit the parks during Halloween season, usually I can’t. Therefore, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite Disney and Pixar Spooky Shorts to celebrate the holiday with a bit of Disney flair!
Below are 9 articles featuring Spooky Shorts that I love! There is no particular order to them because they are all really fantastic!
- Lonesome Ghosts-I know I said there was no order to this list but I had to start with my all time favorite. Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and ghosts, what’s not to love?!
- Trick or Treat– Not only is this short Halloween themed but it has one of my favorite characters (Witch Hazel) and is my favorite Donald Duck cartoon of all time!
- The Old Mill– The Old Mill isn’t Halloween themed per say, but it is spooky in its own way.
- Mater and The Ghostlight-Released in 2006 as a bonus feature on the Cars Blu-ray/DVD, this short is a fun Pixar addition to the spooky shorts!
- The Haunted House– The Haunted House, released in 1929, features none other than Mickey Mouse himself.
- Donald’s Halloween Scare– This short was released in 2000 and is one of the more recent additions to this list.
- Runaway Brain– Runaway Brain was released in 1995 attached to A Kid in King Arthurs Court and was rereleased with a few other movies.
- Donald and the Gorilla– Donald and the Gorilla is basically the Creature Feature of spooky shorts!
- Skeleton Dance– Like The Haunted House, this short was also released in 1929. It is also the oldest spooky short on this list!
I hope you enjoyed this list of my favorite Spooky Shorts! If you want something a bit longer, check out The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. The Ichabod segment is not only perfect for Halloween but is also narrated by Bing Crosby! Do you have a favorite Spooky Short? Let us know which one in the comments below!
