Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point Announced as Name for Disney Cruise Line’s Second Island Destination in the Bahamas

On Saturday, September 9, 2023, a name for the new island destination for the Disney Cruise Line was announced at Destination D23. The island destination will be known as Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. The new destination will “celebrate the natural beauty, traditions, and artistry of the one-of-a-kind nation.”

New concept art was shown for the new Disney Cruise Line destination during the “A Celebration of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.” This showed what Disney Lookout Cay could look like when completed. As can be seen in the concept art, the bulk of Disney Lookout Cay will showcase the natural beauty of the island. The Disney Cruise Line ships would moor on the other side of the island and be out of view of guests lounging on the beach.

Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point was first announced in 2019. It will be located on the end of the island of Eleuthera. It will utilize 90% solar power to aid in environmental preservation. This will be the second island destination in the Bahamas for the Disney Cruise Line, with the first being Castaway Cay. Guests will be able to visit Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point starting in June 2024.

This new island destination is just one of many new offerings coming from the Disney Cruise Line. Last year the Disney Wish began to take guests on cruises out of Florida. This week, details were revealed for the next ship to join the fleet, the Disney Treasure. During the panel at Destination D23, the name for the ship based in Singapore was revealed to be Disney Adventure.
