New Video Highlights Details of Tiana’s Palace at Disneyland

A new video released by Disney today shows off the details of Tiana’s Palace ahead of its opening in New Orleans Square at Disneyland on September 7, 2023. This comes after Daps Magic and other members of the media were given a preview of the menu that will be offered at the location (read about the food complete with review here). The new video shows some of the details that will be found when guests are able to visit in September. This includes the beautiful rod-iron work that returns from the French Market, a new mural inspired by The Princess and the Frog, details around the restaurant also inspired by the film, the new mobile order window, and even at least one Easter Egg. Check out the video below!

Disney Imagineers also took inspiration from The Princess and the Frog for the interior of the restaurant, which includes a large mural of the bayou. There are also other references to Tiana’s story – lilies represented on numerous signs, plaques, light fixtures, frog porcelains, cookbooks Tiana has collected on little shelves, and her father’s favorite gumbo spoon proudly on display. Also be on the lookout for the letters from her father and neighbors that will be on display, alongside a childhood photo of Tiana.

The opening of Tiana’s Palace Restaurant marks the beginning of bringing more stories from Princess Tiana and her friends into the story of New Orleans Square and the surrounding area. It first began with the opening of Eudora’s Chic Boutique featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets in 2022 and will continue with the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in 2024. The restaurant opening helps to expand upon Princess Tiana’s story and pays homage to the cuisine of the Crescent City.
