U.S. Postal Service Announces Star Wars Droids Stamps

“These are the droids you are looking for” might soon be heard in post offices around the country. It was announced yesterday by the U.S. Postal Service that a new line of Star Wars stamps will be released. These stamps will celebrate the droids of Star Wars. The stamps were designed by Greg Breeding with William Gicker serving as the art director.

The collection of Star Wars droids stamps will be arriving in the spring of 2021. They will come on a pane of 20 stamps. They will feature droids from across the Star Wars galaxy including films and animated shows. Among the droids, fans will see IG-11, R2-D2, K-2SO, D-O, L3-37, BB-8, C-3PO, a Gonk droid, 2-1B surgical droid, and Chopper.

Along with celebrating some of the greatest droids in Star Wars, these droids also recognize both Lucasfilm and Disney’s commitment to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) learning and the continued collaboration between Star Wars: Force for Change and global pre-K-12 nonprofit organization FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology).

Star Wars: Force for Change and FIRST have joined forces to expand access to STEM learning for students around the world, and to also help them envision a brighter, more inclusive future.
