Savi’s Workshop continues to offer new experiences. Last year, the “Reclaim and Reforge” lightsabers returned to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. A free experience where kids could build lightsabers and then have the option to choose them was also revealed. Now, a new type of lightsaber experience has been unveiled.
New Lightsabers
Called “Protection and Defense,” this hilt theme has been preserved in the Jedi archives and safeguarded for generations. This new hilt theme allows guests to forge their own custom lightsabers that feature striking white finishes and rich gold detailing.

These new lightsaber options are adorned with mysterious ancient Jedi iconography. Each lightsaber celebrates the optimism and grandeur of the High Republic. They also honor those who dedicated their lives to the protection of others. This continues the legacy of the High Republic into a new era. It showcases the era and how the Order stood as a symbol of peace and hope throughout the galaxy.
More Updates
Throughout Savi’s Workshop, more updates have been added. This means the experience of building lightsabers will be even more exciting. Each lightsaber chassis and blade, no matter the hilt theme, has been enhanced with brand-new features. This includes a thermal cutting effect, spinning effect, and deflection effects. On top of that, there is now upgraded audio quality, and smoother blade activation creates an even more immersive experience.
Even more awesome, there are new special, “cracked” Kyber crystals that lightsabers can be paired with. There is a color-change effect that can additionally be unlocked with the quick flick of a wrist. This showcases the inner battle between the light side and dark side of the Force.
All of these options can be experienced when aspiring Jedi or Sith visit Savi’s Workshop at Disneyland or Walt Disney World in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Purchase is required for this experience, and reservations are encouraged.
