Ghostbusters: Afterlife Release Date Delayed Due to COVID-19

Changes keep coming to the entertainment industry as COVID-19 continues to have a global impact. Recently, both Marvel Studios’ Black Widow and Disney’s Mulan were postponed to later release dates because of the Coronavirus. With the theaters all being closed, this really didn’t come as any surprise. Now, future movies are also getting new release dates. This includes this summer’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife from Sony.

Sony announced that Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be moving from its former release date of July 10, 2020, to its new release date of March 5, 2021. Sony also delayed release dates for Peter Rabbit 2, Morbius, and The Runaway.

The impact of the coronavirus on the entertainment industry is already substantial. Expect more movies to get new release dates the longer the movie theaters remain closed and people are told to continue to social distance. At this point, Disney has not moved the release dates for Jungle Cruise or Artemis Fowl, both of which are scheduled to be in theaters this summer.

DAPS MAGIC will continue to follow these stories and give updates as they become available.
