When Disney+ goes live on November 12 there will be hundreds of different titles arriving for Disney geeks to enjoy. There will be True Lifie Adventures, Herbie films, animated classics, live-action favorites, and also The Muppets! While there will be quite a bit to enjoy of Kermit and the gang, not everything will be released with the arrival of Disney+. Currently, here are the Muppet titles that are known to be arriving with Disney+:
- The Muppet Movie (1979)
- The Great Muppet Caper (1981)
- The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)
- Muppet Treasure Island (1996)
- The Muppets (2011)
- Muppets Most Wanted (2014)
- The Muppets – TV Series (2015)
- Muppet Babies (2018)
Along with these titles, the new Muppets NOW unscripted series will be arriving sometime in 2020. It will feature celebrity guests when it arrives with Kermit and company.
There are some noticeably absent titles that currently haven’t been announced for Disney+. This includes:
Television:
- The Muppet Show (1976-1981)
- Muppet Babies (1984)
- Little Muppet Monsters (1985)
- The Jim Henson Hour (1989)
- Muppets Tonight (1996-1998)
Movies:
- Muppets Take Manhattan (1984)
- Muppets From Space (1999)
There are also quite a few specials that aren’t included on the Disney+ lineup. Disney does not own the right to all of these for distribution. Currently, the distribution rights for Muppets Take Manhattan and Muppets From Space are owned by Sony.
