The holidays will soon be filling the Disney Parks with joy and merriment. With the arrival of this jolly season will come multiple holiday overlays. At Walt Disney World Resort, a new holiday overlay was announced today. This is for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. It will be turned into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay. This limited-time offering will see the Muppets rocking out to holiday tunes with some merry moments added throughout the queue and attraction as well. It will be available from November 4th through January 6th.
Before the Show
Disney shared details about what guests can expect to experience with this holiday overlay. Things will get going before guests even enter G-Force Records. Out in the courtyard, festive music will be heard as they head in for a holiday concert from The Electric Mayhem.
Inside G-Force Records, Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips will be deep in rehearsals as they get ready for their big holiday spectacular. As the band finishes up their seasonal set list, a few Muppets friends will stop by to attempt to help.
Unsurprisingly, the rehearsals don’t go exactly according to plan for The Electric Mayhem. This is probably to be expected with a band that is known for rocking out and now known for being punctual.
As debuted earlier this year with the attraction, the first-ever Audio-Animatronics figure of Scooter will be on hand. Motion-capture technology was used to bring Scooter to life for the attraction. By recording and tracking Scooter’s original performance, Walt Disney Imagineering could bring the character to life in a way that is more accurate than ever before!
Once again, Scooter will be joined by the penguins (who apparently are the finest audio engineers) as he attempts to convince The Electric Mayhem to stop jamming and get moving so they can get across town and perform for their fans.
Muppet Labs comes to aid with its newest technological advancements as guests board a super-powered vehicle in the alleyway just behind Studio C. This new vehicle is known as a Lengthy Immediate Motion Object (L.I.M.O.)!
The Holiday Set List
Along with revealing the holiday overlay for this attraction, Disney also revealed the set list. It includes:
- Holiday Road – The Electric Mayhem ft. Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear
- Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) – The Electric Mayhem ft. Jennifer Hudson
- Silver Bells – The Electric Mayhem ft. Cyndi Lauper
- Little Saint Nick – The Electric Mayhem
Each of these songs brings holiday cheer to the attraction as The Electric Mayhem rock the halls. What do you think of this holiday overlay for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets? Are you excited to experience it? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
