The Magic of Disney Animation is now open for guests of all ages to enjoy. To commemorate the opening of this magical place, Disney brought dozens of characters together for a photo in front of its entrance. In fact, there were 60 characters in total for this very special moment. This was reminiscent of the photo that was taken in Once Upon a Studio, the Disney animated short that was created for the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company. Just as in the short, all the characters came together for a photo in front of the entrance to the big blue hat.

The inspiration and connections don’t just end with the Animation Courtyard photo in front of The Magic of Disney Animation. The Animation Courtyard looks and feels very much like the Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank, California. Inside The Magic of Disney Animation, there are magical details that come to life that are very reminiscent of the animated short as well. This includes characters coming to life in artwork, interactive play areas, the chance to learn to draw with Olaf, and even the opportunity to see Once Upon a Studio.

Back out front, ahead of the opening of The Magic of Disney Animation, a photo was taken that was inspired by the legendary multiplane camera technique that was inspired by Disney nearly nine decades ago. This was shown in a video that was posted on Instagram. See it here:

The Magic of Disney Animation is exactly what the name implies. It is a celebration of Disney animation and lets fans of all ages experience how animation comes to life in many magical ways. This is a beautiful tribute to the Walt Disney Animation Studios and the stories, characters, and legacy that live on from more than a century of storytelling.
