Progress progressing on the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As this area gets transformed to look like what is inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios, some fun details are popping up. Today, a couple of these details were revealed. Along with Mickey Mouse’s Sorcerer Hat being installed, there are also some fun imprints being left by Disney characters in the courtyard.
Ruby, a construction manager for Walt Disney Imagineering, is overseeing the pouring of concrete for the courtyard. In a video that was released on social media, it was revealed that Disney characters are leaving their imprints and signatures in the concrete in the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard. This is similar to what can be seen in front of the Chinese Theatre recreation in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (and also in Hollywood, which inspired it). There, the signatures and imprints of celebrities (both real and characters) can be found. In the case of the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard, all of the imprints are from Disney characters. There are also some fun additional imprints found that continue the stories of some of these favorite Disney characters. Check out Ruby’s video below, followed by some photos of the imprints.

Work continues on the pouring of concrete and addition of imprints in this area. The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard is set to open to the public on May 26, 2026. This will be followed by the opening of the full The Magic of Disney Animation in late Summer 2026. When it opens, guests will get to meet favorite Disney characters, learn to draw with Olaf, and play in a magical and imaginative environment inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
