Disney Reveals Details About Drawn To Wonderland at The Magic of Disney Animation

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is seeing a lot of magic being added inside its gates. This includes the recently opened Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets in one corner of the park. Work continues on a new Monsters, Inc. inspired attraction and land in another corner. In the center of the park, The Magic of Disney Animation and the Animation Courtyard in front of it is bringing new magic that is inspired by the Walt Disney Studios lot.

Last week, the Animation Courtyard opened and is now delighting guests with its magical details and Disney characters meeting and playing with people throughout the day. Now, Disney is giving a look at what is coming to The Magic of Disney Animation when it opens later this summer. Then, guests will get to enter this magical place by walking under the recently installed Sorcerer Mickey Hat. Once inside, there will be experiences to be found that are inspired by the Once Upon a Studio short.

One of these experiences is called Drawn to Wonderland. Inspired by the Disney animated film, Alice in Wonderland, it also draws inspiration from iconic artwork of Mary Blair. This area is an immersive indoor playground. Young animators-to-be will discover the playful chaos of the Mad Tea Party and Mad Hatter’s house along with the Queen of Hearts’ vibrant rose garden. They will also get to explore the Cheshire Cat’s mysterious Tulgey Wood. Just around every corner there will be something new for young guests to explore, a place to move, and to let imaginations run wild!

Drawn to Life will be coming to life with bold colors, whimsical shapes, and Blair’s unmistakable artistic style. The playground is designed especially for little ones. It is a space that offers families a fun, energetic place to both play and recharge while being completely immersed in Disney storytelling.

Disney shared that Disney’s Alice in Wonderland was chosen as inspiration for this area because of its spirit of curiosity, imagination, and discovery. This story and movie naturally lends itself to an environment built for exploration through active play. This is an area that is being created for younger guests. They will love climbing, wandering, and creating their own adventures around every corner throughout this new playground.
