Taylor Swift Talks ‘Toy Story’ Impact at ‘Toy Story 5’ World Premiere

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the world premiere for Toy Story 5 was held at the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. The star-studded event featured many of the stars and filmmakers for the next chapter in this beloved franchise. Among them was superstar songwriter Taylor Swift. The last couple of weeks have been quite exciting as her involvement in the film was teased and then confirmed with the release of a new original song called I Knew It, I Knew You. It was written by Swift and collaborator Jack Antonoff.

As she made her way down the red carpet, she stopped to share a few thoughts about Toy Story 5, Jessie’s role in it, the franchise as a whole, what her song means to her, and how the franchise is connected to her family. In the following interview, Taylor Swift said, “To be able to be welcomed into something that has welcomed me unknowingly its entire existence just as a fan feels like very poignant for me and for my family.” Swift also revealed that this song will be heard in the closing credits.

Toy Story 5 will be arriving in theaters on June 19, 2026. The following trailer gives a tease as to what fans can expect (on top of what Taylor Swift teased):
