Today has been an exciting day for Taylor Swift and Pixar’s Toy Story 5 fans. After billboards and social media posts teasing a collaboration between Swift and Pixar, a countdown began. This was followed by a live video on the Pixar Instagram channel that had characters from the film watching the countdown. At 2:00 PM ET, what exactly the countdown was for was revealed. It is a new song called I Knew It, I Knew You. The song is written and produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff.
Along with revealing that there are now CDs with the song for sale on Swift’s website. They feature the new single as it appears in the film, a special acoustic version, and a special piano version, all with unique vocals and production. She also posted the following on Instagram:
You knew it! My new original song “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Disney and @pixar’s @toystory 5 will be yours on June 5th. I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie. I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?

The song will be released on Friday, June 5, 2026. This comes ahead of the arrival of Toy Story 5 in theaters on June 19, 2026. Pixar made the following announcement regarding this collaboration as well:
Toy Story 5 director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton said, “It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song. Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable. The song is so deeply connected to Toy Story. So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet.”
