The Muppets Mayhem Emmy

‘The Muppets Mayhem’ Wins Emmy

The Muppets Mayhem may not be getting a second season but it is still getting some love. This series, which follows The Electric Mayhem as they record their first album, won an Emmy. The honor was a Children’s and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Children’s or Family Viewing Series. The award was handed out on Sunday night by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The awards show was hosted by Christopher Jackson (Hamilton, And Just Like That) and featured a performance by the Harlem Globetrotters. Other winners for the night included Sesame Street for best preschool series and Jack Black for best voice performance in a children’s or young teen program for his work as Po on Netflix’s Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight. Frank Welker also presented voice performer Peter Cullen with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The event was held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles. It was livestreamed for those who were not there in person.

The Muppets Mayhem was released in May on Disney+. Ahead of the arrival of The Muppets Mayhem on Disney+, Daps Magic was able to interview The Electric Mayhem. It was an immediate hit as the album was also released with the series. The album even reached #1 on the Billboard Charts. When it first came out, it was thought that perhaps this series could kick off a “Muppetverse.” With the cancellation of the series, it is unknown if this could be a possibility. The Muppets Mayhem can currently be watched on Disney+.
