Today at the D23 Expo, a trailer was released for the upcoming live-action The Little Mermaid. The teaser trailer gives viewers a first look at Halle Bailey as Ariel, and to hear her voice. Halle Bailey is joined by Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, and Javier Bardem as King Triton, along with Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian the crab, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, and Awkwafina as Scuttle. The teaser trailer can be seen below:
The Little Mermaid is directed by Rob Marshall. Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alan Menken added new music to the original soundtrack from Menken and Howard Ashman. It will arrive in theaters on May 26, 2023.
