In 2021 fans gathered together at the end of September for what was presumed to be the final presentation of Happily Ever After. This fireworks show became an instant classic when it debuted in 2017 at Walt Disney World Resort. It was replaced by Disney Enchantment for Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration. In 2023, Happily Ever After, or some version of it will be returning to the skies of the Magic Kingdom.
The announcement was made by Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products shared during a panel at the D23 Expo on Sunday. He shared that they were bringing back the Happily Ever After anthem to kick off the panel that was focused on Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. It came right after the popular theme to the fireworks was performed by Jordan Fisher and Angie Keilhauer to start the panel.
An exact date for the return of Happily Ever After was not announced at the D23 Expo, just that it will be in 2023. With the end of Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration coming at the end of March, it could be anytime after that.
