It appears that Bill Murray will be in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. While promoting the film The French Dispatch, the actor said “You know, recently I made a Marvel movie.” He seemed to have second thoughts on the disclosure. however, that didn’t stop the conversation.
Murray went on to talk about how he was wooed into making the film by director Peyton Reed. Murray acknowledged that this movie choice could be a bit surprising but said “I got to know the director — and really liked him very much. He was funny, humble, everything you want from a director.” Murray didn’t specifically mention Reed by name but he did say the director of Bring it On, who happens to be Reed.
“So I agreed, although I’m not interested in these huge comic book adaptations as an actor otherwise,” Murray said. It doesn’t appear that he will be making any future Marvel movies though. He was asked if he had any regrets about making the film and replied, “Let’s put it this way: the director is a good guy, and now I’ve at least tried out what it’s like to shoot a Marvel movie,” and continued by saying “But I don’t think I need that experience a second time.”
It also should be noted that the original article was written in the German outlet Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ). However, Murray also gave enough information to make the story seem quite clear. Murray will be joining Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (The Wasp), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), and Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet van Dyne) in the film. Jonathan Majors will also be appearing as Kang the Conquerer, a role he was seen portraying in Loki.
Disney has not made any comments about Murray being a part of the cast of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. His role, or the size of the role, is currently unknown. There are a lot of unknowns on this story at this point, just that Murray shared about his involvement.
