Many dining locations and restaurants are reopening at the Disneyland Resort as things continue to return to the new normal. In previous weeks, DAPS MAGIC has reported on many of these dining locations being reopened. One restaurant that hasn’t received a reopening date is Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel.
DAPS MAGIC has learned from Disney that options are being explored for this location. Disney also shared that they look forward to sharing more information about this at a future date.
Steakhouse 55 received its name in reference to the year that Disneyland opened. It opened on November 27, 2006. It replaced Granville’s Steak House, which had opened in 1983. The atmosphere in the restaurant harkened back to the era of Old Hollywood and Walt Disney. Black and white photos hung on the walls portraying Walt Disney, movie stars, and musical talent from the old days.
The restaurant had achieved acclaim with the Orange County Register awarding it four stars. It also received a Golden Bacchus from the Southern California Restaurant Writers Association. Zagat also described the restaurant as “amazing,” “a gem,” “elegant” and “the best rib eye in town.”
For many guests, this was a wonderful upscale restaurant to visit for an incredible meal. Depending on who you asked, some would say it offered the best food at the Disneyland Resort. Have you ever eaten at Steakhouse 55? What did you think of it? What do you think about Disney exploring options for this location? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
