Steakhouse 55 Being Converted Into Lounge at Disneyland Hotel

Steakhouse 55 once was the signature dining establishment at the Disneyland Resort. However, in recent years it has sent empty. As it has sat empty, many fans have speculated about what the future for the location would be. Today that future was known. Scott Gustin is reporting that the former Steakhouse 55 will become a flexible lounge space. Sometimes, this space will also become an extension of a seasonal bar.

Along with the restaurants mentioned above, room service is available and there are also multiple restaurants that are within walking distance in the Downtown Disney District.

We used to frequent the Steakhouse Lounge and love the idea of it being larger. I hope by some miracle they bring back our favorite, the potato chip nachos!!!!

  2. With closure of Steakhouse 55 an era of lush, clubby , ‘40’ties fine dining is ending
It was a refuge from the busy ,hectic park. Guests were welcome with an old school, gracious hospitality ,the food and wine ( often chose after a wine room tasting) were affordable and the highest quality .
Many guests came back again and again forging friendships with us which lasted until now.
I used to work there I know for sure closing the restaurant was received with great sadness and resentment by everybody.
Reopening the lounge is a small step in the right direction but is not what the guests were expecting.
Again as lately Disneyland disenchanted many of its guests and supporters.

It’s extremely sad news. For the prices Disneyland Hotel charges it should have at least one upscale restaurant to serve guests-Goofy’s Kitchen and Tangaroa Terrace are not that. A nice restaurant for special occasions and a break from the crowds was what Steakhouse 55 provided for those staying in hotel, attending conferences or visiting Parks. Excellent service and food. Only one high end restaurant in 3 overpriced hotels and that’s not easy to book or everyone’s style. What a pity Disney so short sighted in addressing needs of guests.
