This week fans of The Muppets will be able to see a couple of their favorites popping up on ABC, ABC affiliates, and social media. The Muppets have partnered with the Ad Council and COVID Collaborative to encourage people to “Give it a Shot!” This is one effort of many being made by The Walt Disney Company to get the word out about getting vaccinated. The following clip was shared yesterday on social media. In it, Gonzo and Pepe encourage people to get vaccinated.
The new clip was accompanied on the Disney Parks Blog with a letter from Disney Parks Chief Medical Officer Dr. Pamela Hymel, who also encouraged people to get vaccinated. You can read the whole letter below.
This initiative to promote getting the COVID-19 vaccines comes as Disney continues to push forward with phased reopenings in its theme parks around the globe. Recently, Walt Disney World recently relaxed its face-covering policy and opened up more capacity. Disneyland has also recently upped its capacity. Disneyland Paris is expected to reopen on June 17th.
