Disneyland Paris to Reopen on June 17

Disneyland Paris has announced that it will begin a phased reopening of its theme parks on June 17, 2021. This comes after the park had to close again due to the pandemic. The reopening includes Disneyland® Park, Walt Disney Studios® Park, Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel, and Disney Village. Days later Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will open on June 21. The following video was released by Disneyland Paris:

Disneyland Paris Reopening Highlights

The reopening of Disneyland Paris will find guests getting to experience some classic attractions, some exciting attractions, and even some new magic! According to the Disney Parks Blog, the reopening will give guests the opportunity to once again experience Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain in Discoveryland and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Walt Disney’s Studios if they are looking for a thrill. Peter Pan’s Flight and Ratatouille: The Adventure will also be open for those wanting a more classic Disney dark ride experience.

For those looking for something new, with the reopening of the parks Cars ROAD TRIP will let guests go on a road trip in the world of Pixar’s Cars along Route 66. While on this journey, guests will see the natural wonders of the land like World’s Largest Lugnut and the Cars-tastrophe Canyon. They will also get to see Lightning McQueen and Mater along the way.

With the reopening will also be the return of Selfie Spots where guests can take pictures with their favorite Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel friends. New experiences like Star Wars Legends, a new galactic experience and The Cheshire Cat Express Train featuring friends from Alice in Wonderland will also be added to the parks upon their reopening.

Disneyland Paris Reopening Details

With the reopening of Disneyland Paris, there will again be health and safety protocols in place. This will include limited capacity, physical distancing, face coverings, and other protocols. All health and safety protocols can be found on the Disneyland Paris website.

Specific date registration connected with tickets will also be required to visit the parks. This is much like the reservation system being utilized at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. It is a bit different, however as tickets with specific dates on them count as registered. Also, for Annual Passes purchased before July 15, 2020, there are a certain number of slots set aside every day as part of the capacity for the parks. However, Disneyland Paris strongly encourages registration for these as well even though they are not required. At this time tickets cannot be purchased on the same day as a visit.

Just days after the reopening of Disneyland Paris, its newest hotel, Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will be opening. It won’t be the only hotel open this summer at Disneyland Paris, however. Disney’s Newport Bay Club will be reopening with the parks and others will open later. Here are the reopening dates of the Disneyland Paris hotels as they are scheduled currently:

  • June 17 – Disney’s Newport Bay Club
  • June 21 – Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel
  • July 1 – Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne
  • July 13 – Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch

The Disneyland Hotel will not be reopening with Disneyland Paris as it undergoes a royal renovation.

For guests visiting Disneyland Paris, the Disneyland Paris app is encouraged for booking restaurants, finding selfie spots, and other resources. It will also be helpful for guests looking to find details about attractions and other offerings around Disneyland Paris.

With the reopening of Disneyland Paris, all of the Disney Parks around the world will again be open for the first time since the pandemic began to shut them down on January 24, 2020. More details about reopening can be found at Disneylandparis.com.
