In January it was announced that The World Famous Jungle Cruise is going to be getting some updates. They will include a new overarching storyline for the attraction that also has a backstory. The changes will all be in the humorous spirit of the attraction. Those who ride aboard the Jungle Cruise will also be introduced to the granddaughter of Dr. Albert Falls, Alberta Falls. The changes will be coming to the attraction at both Magic Kingdom and also Disneyland.
Today, Imagineer Zach Riddley announced that the changes to the attraction at Magic Kingdom will be added while the attraction remains open. Quite often when changes are added to an attraction, it will be closed down for a period of reimagining. Riddley posted on Instagram saying:
You may start to notice some monkey business along the river as work begins on Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom. The good news for all of you visiting @waltdisneyworld is the attraction will remain open to guests while our teams update scenes in a phased approach over the next several months.
We can’t wait to share the enhancements with our guests as we build on the story of the Jungle Cruise at both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park.
There was no mention of when or how the updates will be added to the Disneyland version of the attraction. Disneyland reopens on April 30th. DAPS MAGIC will continue to follow this story and provide updates as they become available.
