Early 2021 runDisney Events Going Virtual Due to COVID-19

As COVID-19 has continued to be present in the United States, Disney has had to make many difficult decisions to keep everyone safe. This afternoon, Disney announced that they would be transitioning two of their early 2021 runDisney events to virtual weekends.

The Walt Disney World and Princess Half Marathon Weekends will officially become virtual events, similar to what happened for the 2020 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. Guests who have registered for these events will have the option for a full refund if they do not wish to participate in the virtual races. If you are interested in pursuing a refund, you can follow the instructions from runDisney here.

If you were not originally registered for these early 2021 runDisney events but you want to participate, there’s good news for you! Disney will be opening up registration for limited spots for these virtual events. Whether you. want to participate in the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend or the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend, you can register this weekend!

Though the fate of future events has not yet been decided, Disney will continue to evaluate and assess to keep everyone involved safe. Are you planning on participating in any of these virtual events? Be sure to connect with us on Twitter and Facebook to let us know.
