New Pedestrian Bridge opens at Disneyland Resort

New Pedestrian Bridge Opens Connecting Parking Structure and Downtown Disney District

A new pedestrian bridge has opened on the Southwest corner of the Pixar Pals parking structure this week. It connecting both the Pixar Pals and Mickey and Friends parking lots with the Downtown Disney District. It allows guests to make their way to the Downtown Disney District and Disneyland Resort theme parks without having to stop for traffic. Instead, guests can walk above the traffic going through the area. The new pedestrian bridge is just one way to get into the parks though as the trams still offer a ride from the parking structures to the parks and Downtown Disney District as well.

Friend of DAPS MAGIC Steven stopped by to grab the following video and some photos of the area this morning.

The new bridge spans Magic Way and is 174-feet wide. It then leads to a short walkway to the Downtown Disney District and then Disneyland Resort theme parks. Along with the new bridge that is now open, a new shaded outdoor entry plaza has been opened for guests entering the Resort. It is found between both parking structures near the security and tram entry area. The new Pixar Pals parking structure adds more than 5,000 new parking spots to the Disneyland Resort. There is also digital signage around to help guide drivers around the Disneyland Resort area.

Over at the Toy Story parking lot on Harbor Blvd, construction continues as the Disneyland Resort works to accommodate more guests and cars comfortably. What do you think of this new pedestrian bridge and entry plaza? Share your thoughts below!
