The Animation Experience Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s Conservation Station This July

Walt Disney - Animation

This summer Rafiki’s Planet Watch is reopening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. With the reopening will be the return of the Conservation Station, Wildlife Express Train, Habitat Habit, and Affectation Station. One new thing that will be arriving with the reopening of this area of the park will be The Animation Experience.

The Animation Experience

Animation and animals have gone back to the early days of The Walt Disney Company. In order to get the best-animated animals possible, Walt Disney would bring in real wildlife for his animators to study and learn from. As part of Walt Disney World’s celebration of the new reimagining of The Lion King, The Animation Experience is coming to the Conservation Station. This new experience will allow guests to learn how live animals inspired some of the characters of The Lion King.  Guests will also learn about some of the animals that find a home at Disney’s Animal Kingdom before learning to create personalized Disney art through an animation class led by a Disney art instructor. Guests will learn to draw Simba, Zazu, Pumbaa, Timon and more. As should be no surprise, some of the stars of The Lion King will be the stars of The Animation Experience at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. This new experience will be available when Rafiki’s Animal Watch reopens on July 11th. Each experience at The Animation Experience will be different and Disney Fastpass+ will be available for guests wishing to participate. Fastpass+ for this experience became available today.
