Mickey and Minnie Mouse Get New Outfits For 90th Celebration!

Mickey and Minnie Mouse are getting some new outfits as part of the celebration of their 90 years. Today it was revealed that both Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be receiving new outfits around the globe. They will be wearing these new outfits at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disney Resort and Disney Cruise Line.

Mickey Mouse will be wearing a new white suit. The suit will feature a colorful collection of confetti. For Minnie Mouse, there will be a new puff-sleeve dress with pompons and a buoyant bubble skirt. Senior Costume Designer Joe Kucharski explained that the outfits are designed to reflect the party spirit of the celebration that is coming.

“The looks that Mickey and Minnie will be wearing to celebrate their 90th anniversary represent all of the colorful exuberance of a party and birthday party decorations, complete with confetti, balloons, pompons, streamers and more!” Kucharski said. “These playful bursts of color and texture are set against crisp white, meant to evoke the nostalgic feeling of frosting, crisp linens and tissue paper.”

These new costumes will be appearing in the Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party, opening January 18, at the Walt Disney World Resort. This is a part of Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration at Magic Kingdom Park, which is a limited-time magic celebration. It will include new entertainment, merchandise, and specialty food and beverage. These new outfits will also be featured globally at:

  • Hong Kong Disneyland beginning November 18
  • Shanghai Disneyland on November 18 only
  • Disneyland Resort beginning January 2019
  • Disney Cruise Line summer 2019
