On Facebook, ABC’s Good Morning America has released a video that gives an inside walking tour of the upcoming Pandora – The World of Avatar. Jon Landau and Joe Rohde show off the amazing real landscape of the new “land” at Animal Kingdom to Paula Faris. The floating islands have waterfalls that fall right beside guests. The lush vegetation and scenery is so true to form that Landau, producer of the Avatar movies, says he wants to take crews and cast to Animal Kingdom so that they can walk around Pandora. Rohde describes the night change being from the living things are luminescent to give off light surrounding visitors. The food is custom to the area, and in the video we see a slush type drink and the Na’vi cheesecake. A small bit of Flight of Passage was shown, including that each rider will get their own Avatar matched in the ride. Goggles shown mean that this will be a 3D attraction. And it looks like it will be a “saddle seat” type ride. But, the camera goes away because it is still top secret to show off the rest of the ride.
Pandora looks incredible with so much detail. From the short video it seems like guests will be surrounded by a huge forest and walk under incredible floating islands and mountains. The food looks like it will be a grand feast. I especially cannot wait to see it at night. Having a glowing forest seems magical and surreal. It sounds like nothing that has appeared in a Disney park before. Pandora – The World of Avatar is still set to open May 27, 2017.
Take a look at the video below, and I’m sure Disney will keep releasing more as the date approaches to opening. We’ll keep updating with information as we get it!
