Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye is closed for refurbishment at Disneyland. The popular Adventureland attraction is now surrounded by walls and in-world signs that announce the closure. It isn’t known at this time how long the refurbishment will last. Some signs say “Attention! Not offering tours today.” There is also a letter that is posted on the walls from Sallah that says:
Coming Soon!
Joine me on a most splendid tour of the Temple of the Forbidden Eye, with an opportunity to partake in the fabled blessings of Mara: Eternal Youth, Great Wealth, or a Glimpse Into the Future. What could be more delightful? Tours begin in fall of 1935!

What specifically is being done on the attraction during this refurbishment has not been revealed by Disney. This is the second year in a row that it has been closed for a refurbishment. Last year, it was closed for a month and then separately for two days. After these closures, fans observed effects that had been thought lost forever working again.

The refurbishment of this attraction also comes ahead of a new version being opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort. This version will be called Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. Indiana Jones will be exploring a mysterious temple near a once water-filled underground cave, called a cenote. A local legend says that the passage leads to the Maya Underworld. It also says that it is protected by a serpentine creature called the Tsukán. During this adventure, riders will be unwittingly sucked through a portal to the Underworld. There, they will have to escape perilous dangers including monstrous bats, larger-than-life scorpions, fire and flame, and a massive serpent.
