Disneyland Paris continues to move forward on multiple fronts. Along with new attractions, lands, foods, and entertainment offerings, they are also progressing with the technology used for transactions around the resort. Disneyland Paris and Visa have announced that they are implementing new payment terminals that have begun to roll out to its shops and food/beverage locations. This comes from a collaboration between Visa and Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Maintenance, Information Technology, Central Workshops, and Corporate Alliances & Partnerships.

The goal with these new terminals is to make transactions as simple and smooth as possible. Great work was put into making sure each terminal blends seamlessly into the environment that surrounds it. In total, there are ten different designs that were made for Disneyland Resort. This included different designs for the five lands at Disneyland and then Disney Adventure World, from Avengers Campus and World of Frozen to World Premiere Plaza.

From the decorative casing to the plaque displaying the accepted payment methods, every detail has been carefully designed to reflect its surroundings. Whether sculpted in the shape of a crown for Fantasyland, engraved with a crocus flower for World of Frozen, or featuring the iconic Luxo Ball for Worlds of Pixar, no detail has been overlooked. Combining resin and aluminium, these themed casings were designed by Walt Disney Imagineering Paris in collaboration with several teams from the Central Workshops, who brought together their expertise in metalworking, engraving and painting to bring the project to life. For the occasion, the Imagineers also created on-screen animations for the terminals, including a treasure chest opening in Adventureland, or a piece of cheese mysteriously being nibbled away at La Place de Rémy.
The entire lineup of new Visa terminals should be fully deployed by the end of this month. What do you think of these new Visa terminals? What do you think of the continued innovation with different things like this? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
