The Lucasfilm Publishing Panel at San Diego Comic-Con gave Star Wars fans quite a lot to be excited about. First off, Ahmed Best, Jar Jar Binks himself, was a part of the panel as the first Star Wars Reads Ambassador. He was joined by writers Anthony Breznican, Ashley Poston, and Kiersten White, as well as Lucasfilm Publishing’s Creative Director Michael Siglain, for a conversation moderated by author and StarWars.com editor-in-chief Kristin Baver.

Leia Organa is Luke Skywalker’s First Student
Author Beth Revis is returning to the Star Wars galaxy with Star Wars: Twin Crossroads, a new adult novel from Random House Worlds following the adventures of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa.
2027 is Time for a Star Wars: A Celebration!
Earlier, StarWars.com revealed that for the first time, the novelizations of the Star Wars original trilogy will be available as unabridged audiobooks. Narrated by Marc Thompson, the new editions will be released on February 2, 2027, wherever audiobooks are sold.
As the Star Wars franchise hits its half-century mark next year, the panel hinted that even more new, exciting titles will be on the way. This includes a new book from DK Publishing, Star Wars: A Celebration.
Anthony Breznican To Unmask Darth Vader.
Author of Star Wars Icons: Vader, Anthony Breznican, shared about his research, inspiration, and more when he tackled the complete story of the Dark Lord of the Sith.

New Star Wars Graphic Novel
Those who were in attendance at the panel got a first look at the cover of Mad Cave Studio’s Star Wars: A New Hope – Triple Take. This is scheduled to be released in February 2027. It has a story written by Kim Shearer and Chas! Pangburn.
There are also two more middle grade graphic novels heading to bookstores this fall. This includes Race for Jabba’s Bounty by Cavan Scott and Christian Colbert, and The Legend of Beggar’s CanyonbyGreg Pak and illustrated by Brent Schoonover
More of The High Republic
The High Republic will continue thanks to Dark Horse Comics’ Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Pathfinders #4. This is written by George Mann with cover art by Jake Bartok. This series follows a team of Republic Pathfinders who are dispatched to a distant corner of the galaxy to investigate the death of a Jedi Master.

There were also some quick looks at upcoming comic books, including Dark Horse’s Star Wars: Galactic Tales of Terror Library Edition by Cavan Scott and various artists, and Hyperspace Stories: The Bad Batch – Rogue Agents #4 from Michael Moreci and Reese Hannigan.
New covers from Marvel Comics’ The Fall of Kylo Ren from Charles Soule and Will Sliney and variant covers of upcoming one-shots like Star Wars: Book of Boba Fett and Star Wars: Rogue One issues were also shown.
New Genres For a Galaxy Far, Far Away
Some new genres are being explored in the Star Wars universe. Middle grade horror novel Hiding from the Dark by Kiersten White and young adult romance novel Eyes Like Stars by Ashley Poston both showcased these new genres.
Star Wars Reads… with Ahmed Best!
Ahmed Best is to be the first Ambassador for Star Wars Reads. This is a month-long celebration of reading for all ages of Star Wars fans that takes place in October. Star Wars and Lucasfilm Publishing will be working alongside First Book to help expand access to books and educational resources for children across the country.
Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium
Indiana Jones’ next adventure was revealed in the form of the comic book, Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium. This brand-new series from Marvel Comics comes from the creative team of Jason Aaron and Aaron Kuder. The five-issue limited series is set directly after Raiders of the Lost Ark and will debut in December 2026.
Indiana Jones: The Further Adventures Volume 1 and Volume 2 will also be coming soon from Marvel Comics. This includes film adaptations of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, along with The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones series that expanded the character’s mythos.
