Indiana Jones 20th Anniversary Annual Pass Event Recap

IndyEvent 5Disneyland has been rolling out some Annual Passholder events recently, and the recent one celebrated a milestone.  The Indiana Jones Adventure celebrated its 20th year on March 3, and in conjunction, AP’s were able to join in an after hours party.

During the festivities, several performers gave great entertainment.  A “Jones Family” band played in between Indiana Jones Adventure and Jungle Cruise.  A fedora wearing ball roller stayed near the attraction as well.  Up on Tarzan’s Treehouse, Indiana Jones took back artifacts from enemies in a small stunt show along the bridge.

IndyEvent 1Attractions were open during the event, but just those in Frontierland, Adventureland, and New Orleans Square.  Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, the Enchanted Tiki Room, Disneyland Railroad, and, of course, the Indiana Jones Adventure were all open during the party.  A showing of Fantasmic capped off the night.

The big event within the event was a panel discussion between Tim O’Day and Tony Baxter.  They reminisced about the opening of the popular attraction, and told some behind the scenes stories.  It was a celebration of the history of one of the best attractions at the resort.

This event captured the adventure and thrill of the great ride.  Throughout each land, lighting and music set the atmosphere.  It was if the queue became extended to the rest of the park.  Lines were not terribly long to ride any attraction.  The longest seemed to be Indy itself, but was quickly got through in about 20 minutes at its peak.

I enjoyed seeing the atmosphere and hearing the panel discussion.  Indiana Jones Adventure is an attraction I’ve payed great attention to over the years, even keeping tabs on its construction back in the day.  To hear and see some things that I didn’t know about before was worth attending the event.

Below are a few pictures and a couple of videos, including the full panel discussion for your enjoyment!
