Disneyland’s it’s a small world is currently being refurbished. This extended after-Christmas refurbishment isn’t just seeing the attraction getting some tender loving care. It also is seeing some new characters being added! When the attraction reopens on April 25, 2025, characters from Pixar’s Coco will be found by guests as they sail by the children of the world.
Miguel and his trusted alebrije, Dante, will both be joining the other children in song when it’s a small world reopens. The duo will be silhouetted by a stunning marigold bridge as guests sail by. Concept art for what this looks like was shared by Disney today:

This won’t be the only change for it’s a small world this year. On July 17th, a third verse to the legendary song will be added to the attraction. Written by Richard Sherman before his death, these lyrics were first revealed during Jolly Holiday: A Musical Celebration of Richard M. Sherman at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
The Main Street Cinema will also be hosting a tribute to the Sherman Brothers. This will include the short film, The Last Verse, which was revealed initially at the beginning of the Jolly Holiday: A Musical Celebration of Richard M. Sherman panel at D23.
Here is a look at it’s a small world as it was seen before being transformed to it’s a small world Holiday in 2024.
Check out all of the fun that is coming and happening during this celebration on Daps Magic’s page dedicated to Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration.
