Mickey’s PhilharMagic Getting New Coco Sequence on July 17th

Disney and Pixar’s Coco will soon have a presence in Mickey’s PhilharMagic. A new scene will be added to the attraction that is found at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort, Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort, and also Disneyland Paris that will be based on the musical number Un Poco Loco. It will arrive at Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Paris on July 17th. It will be added to the Magic Kingdom’s version of the attraction later this year as a part of Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary celebration.

The addition of this new musical scene that combines characters from Coco with Donald Duck will be the first time that both Disney and Pixar animators have worked together on a project where characters from both animation studios will share the screen.

There will also be new music for this new scene in Mickey’s PhilharMagic. Disney brought in Germaine Franco, who was one of the film’s original composers, to score this portion of the attraction.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, “guests will enjoy this new scene alongside all of the show’s current fan-favorite musical numbers.” This seems to indicate an addition to the show and not a substitution of a current scene.
