The Bear

Jeremy Allen White is Jabba the Hutt’s Son in ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’

Not a lot of information has been released about the upcoming Star Wars film, The Mandalorian & Grogu. However, here and there details are trickling out. Variety is reporting that The Bear star Jeremy Allen White has joined the cast for the film. What’s more, he will be lending his voice to the son of Jabba the Hutt. This new character is named Rotta the Hutt. It isn’t known n how the character fits into the storyline at this point.

The addition of Jabba the Hutt’s son is an interesting one after the event of The Book of Boba Fett. In the series, Boba Fett defeats two of Jabba’s cousins who were attempting to seize control of the power vacuum left behind after Jabba’s death at the hands (or chains) of Princess Leia in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. There is a distinct possibility that with Rotta the Hutt joining the storyline for The Mandalorian & Grogu, there will also be a return of Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. It also is possible that there will be controversy when it comes to their paths crossing as well.

The Mandalorian & Grogu

Jon Favreau, who created The Mandalorian, is directing The Mandalorian & Grogu. The screenplay was written by Favreau and Dave Filoni. The film stars Pedro Pascal as Mando/Din Darin with Grogu, also known as Baby Yoda, appearing with him. Sigourney Weaver also has an unknown role in the film as well.

The Mandalorian & Grogu will be arriving in theaters on May 22, 2026. When it lands in theaters, it will be the first Star Wars theatrical release since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.
