On this day in 1974, actor and singer James Monroe Iglehart was born. Iglehart is best known for originating the role of the Genie in the Broadway production of ‘Aladdin’ in 2014. He was recognized with a Tony Award for the role and continued bringing the Genie’s magic to the stage until 2017.
