Disneyland Railroad

Disneyland Railroad History on Display

The Disneyland Railroad is currently closed for some needed refurbishing and maintenance. New track is being laid from the crossing next to it’s a small world to the Tomorrowland Station. During this downtime, the crews are offering guests a look at the Disneyland Railroad history at three of the stations.

Main Street

Main Street station is under tarps for its refurbishment. A display along the construction wall offers a look at Disney theme park stations around the world.

Tomorrowland

At the Tomorrowland station guests will find “Yesterday’s Stations of Tomorrow,” a display of historical images of Tomorrowland’s many transportation systems through the years.

Toontown

The Toontown Station has a display that details the engines of the Disneyland Railroad, and a look at some historic images of Walt Disney himself, enjoying himself as he is “working on the railroad.”

During the day, members of the Disneyland Railroad crew may be on hand to provide information about DLRR history and operations. Here, Engineer Mark gives us the background on the displays at the Toontown Station.

Working on the Railroad

As the Monorail has recently reopened, it is possible to catch a glimpse of the work that is being done on the right-of-way on the east side of the railroad. Note the newly delivered bundles of ties in the second image.
