Work continues to progress on the Disney Treasure before she takes guests on the inaugural cruise in December. The newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet continues to near completion. Disney has revealed that it has reached a new milestone with the addition of Peter Pan and Captain Hook on the ship’s stern. This continues a trend of Disney characters being found on the stern of ships in the fleet of the Disney Cruise Line.
The Disney Treasure was first announced at the 2022 D23 Expo. It is a Wish-class ship and the characters for its stern were initially revealed in July 2023. Now not just concept art but real, the figures really are substantial in size. For example, Peter Pan is over 9 feet tall and wears a size 36.5 shoe! The sculptures were created in California before being moved and installed on the ship in Papenburg, Germany. Both Captain Hook and Peter Pan were lifted into place by the shipyard team with cranes and securely bolted to the ship’s stern.
The Disney Treasure has a theme of adventure. The addition of Peter Pan and Captain Hook continue that theme in a perfect way. Their stories are one of the classic Disney adventure stories! The Disney Treasure will take its maiden voyage on December 21, 2024. This voyage will be a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida. This will be followed by the inaugural season of seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral. Cruises aboard the Disney Treasure can be booked through Mouseways Travel, the official travel partner of Daps Magic.
Throughout the ship there will be themed experiences of all kind to enjoy. This includes of course the opportunity to meet Disney characters and princesses. There are also some incredible dining options that include a Haunted Mansion-themed lounge and a jazz lounge themed to The Aristocats. Along with some other incredible dining experiences, there will also be some incredible entertainment offerings as well. This includes a new Moana stage show.
