This week, Pixar Fest 2024 kicks off at the Disneyland Resort and brings friendship, fun, and festivity right along with it! While there are plenty of incredible moments you can’t miss throughout the Resort, I had a few moments I left thinking about repeatedly. Here are my favorite moments at Pixar Fest 2024!
Talking Dug from Up
On Thursday, we got the chance to have a special meeting with our pal Dug. To our surprise, his translating collar was working and he could let us know what he was thinking. Dug and I had a chat about digging up flowers and I offered to introduce him to my best pal, Indiana.
This character experience is brand new to any Disney park and makes this meet-and-greet even more fun. Who doesn’t want to chat with the cute, loyal puppy?! Throughout Pixar Fest, guests will be able to meet Dug as he wanders through and near the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail each day!
Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration
I absolutely love when parades have a catchy theme! This parade has music you will be humming throughout the day as well as beautiful messages and friendship and being loved. The parade features moments where characters from some of our favorite Disney-Pixar are surrounded by love in a celebratory moment!
One of my favorite moments of the parade is the float featuring characters from Turning Red, including 4*Town. This float is so fun, energetic, and gives us the chance to see quite a few red pandas! In each unit of the parade, guests have the chance to see American Sign Language being tied into the choreography. This was done intentionally, with the intent to spread the message that we really are Better Together!
Club Pixar
Club Pixar comes to life at night in the Hollywood Backlot area of Disney California Adventure Park. This brings a nightlife feel to the park while being completely accessible to families of all ages. This area has a DJ, dancers, and plenty of interactivity.
While the energy was fantastic, head further in to see more fun! There is an area to watch Pixar Shorts in comfy couches or play games inspired by shorts! This was one of my favorite “hidden” areas as it felt calm and relaxing! When you put all these elements together, it creates an environment I can see myself enjoying time after time!
Pixar Fest 2024 officially begins at the Disneyland Resort on Friday, April 26, and will run until Sunday, August 4.
