The rain, rain rain, continues to come down, down, down on Southern California. As the inclement weather continues to douse the Disneyland Resort, the decision has been made to close Disney California Adventure early tonight. This comes after Knott’s Berry Farm did not open at all and hours have been modified at the Disneyland Resort this week due to the effects of this storm.
Disney California Adventure is now closing at 8:00 PM instead of 9:00 PM due to the bad weather. Disneyland was already set to close at 8:00 PM to accommodate the special after-hours event at 9:00 PM, Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite. At this time, it doesn’t appear that there have been any changes to the Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite hard-ticketed event. This is a sold-out event that does not allow for refunds due to weather conditions.
Daps Magic will continue to monitor the weather conditions and the impacts it may or may not have on the Disneyland Resort. Current weather forecasts show that the rain should be tapering off about the time that Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite begins. Tomorrow looks like it could also see some sun returning for some partly cloudy skies. If this does end up being the case, tomorrow’s park operations shouldn’t be impacted by the weather.
On Sunday night, the Daps Magic team braved the weather to take photos and videos of the rainy evening in the park. Here is a video of a walk around Disneyland on a rainy evening:
Along with impacting the parks’ operating hours, the storm has also led to the closure of attractions and Magic Happens has not been able to be presented either. This parade returned on Friday, February 2, 2024, and is quite popular with guests. In its place, the Mickey and Friends Rainy Day Cavalcade was presented. It can be seen here:
