The holiday season just ended this past Sunday, and refurbishment season is well underway at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Parks.
Let’s start off at Disney California Adventure where Grizzly River Run is undergoing its annual winter refurbishment. Walls surround the entrance of the attraction, and the water has been drained as well. The attraction reopens Friday, March 1.
Over at Paradise Gardens Park, World of Color is undergoing maintenance for its annual refurbishment. The show resumes January 19 as World of Color – ONE returns for the season.
Paradise Garden Grill near Goofy’s Sky School is closed for refurbishment. No word on when this dining location will reopen.
On Buena Vista Street and Carthay Circle, the holiday decorations have been removed.
At Hyperion Theatre, walls are up in the courtyard area. No word on when this will reopen or whether a show will return or premiere at the theatre.
As we park hop to Disneyland, the Mark Twain Riverboat continues its months-long refurbishment. The boat has received a new paint job, new windows, and new doors..
Across from Fowler’s Harbor, Haunted Mansion Holiday continues through January 21. However, part of the outdoor queue near the fountain in Magnolia Park and most of the exterior queue inside the gates has been walled off in preparation for the new queue coming later this year.
Just next to the Haunted Mansion, work continues on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure where the new water tower has arrived this week!
In New Orleans Square, Blue Bayou Restaurant is currently closed for a brief refurbishment. Pirates of the Caribbean remains open during this time. Blue Bayou reopens January 20.
We now make our way towards Fantasyland where “it’s a small world” holiday is being transformed back into “it’s a small world.” The attraction reopens Friday, January 19.
Since the holiday season is now over, there are also new Park map covers for Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Disneyland’s park map feature Goofy at his How-To-Play Yard in Mickey’s Toontown. The map for Disney California Adventure features Hiro and Baymax promoting the new San Fransokyo Square area.
