Disneyland Refurbishment Report – January 24, 2024

The busy refurbishment season continues at the Disneyland Resort, and more projects just got added to the list.

For this update, we start at Disneyland in Town Square. City Hall and the Disneyland Fire Department are currently under scaffolding and wraps. City Hall and the restrooms remain open during this refurbishment, however, the Fire Department is closed.

The 2023 season of Haunted Mansion Holiday ended on Sunday, and while most of the queue has been surrounded by walls since January 8, more walls went up this week. The Haunted Mansion will be getting a new outdoor queue, as well as a gift shop near the exit of the attraction close to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The trees in the Magnolia Park area are being torn down to make way for a new area that continues the story of Tiana’s Palace and opens up more of that area for dining, entertainment, and walking. There is currently no reopening date set for this project.

As a result the extensive refurbishment near Tiana’s Palace and the Haunted Mansion, the Frontierland & New Orleans Square Station of the Disneyland Railroad is currently closed for boarding. The train, however, will continue to make stops there as guests can disembark at the station and trains can continue to fill up on water. There are directional signs all around the walls of that construction area directing you to access points for New Orleans Square attractions, shops, and restaurants.

We next park hop to Disney California Adventure where the restrooms and shop exterior across from Soarin’ are under refurbishment. The locations remain open during this time.,

Down the pathway heading toward Grizzly River Run, this extensive refurbishment continues. New signs have replaced the Disney Vacation Club signs that had been on the walls around the attraction since January 8. Grizzly River Run reopens March 1.

Over in Pixar Pier, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is now closed for its refurbishment. Walls surround the attraction, and it is scheduled to reopen on February 9th.

Thank you for following along on this tour around the Disneyland Resort theme parks as refurbishment season continues. We will see you next time as we bring you more updates on refurbishment projects happening at the Disneyland Resort.
