The third season of The Pacific Pals Show! has been released by the Aquarium of the Pacific. This series aims to “sprinkle the magic of ocean conseravtion and science across the globe, turning our world into a greener, grander place.” This is done with some fun animal ambassadors, who along with actors, all have a flair for friendship and fun!
This charming show was one of the good things that came out of the pandemic. The Aquarium of the Pacific couldn’t be sharing the magic of the Pacific ocean in the way it traditionally had. So the team turned to the internet. This started with The Daily Bubble, a news show that was broadcast from home. Upon returning to the studio at the Aquarium, these talented entertainers brought The Pacific Pals Show! to life. This is a show that includes animal science, catch music videos, literature parodies, and some hilarious movie spoofs. It is impossible to predict where these Pacific Pals will go as they have their wacky fun. Below is a trailer for the third season of The Pacific Pals Show! One of the performers for The Pacific Pals Show, Sarah Berman, was on Influencing Magic earlier this year. Check out her interview about being a puppeteer and success here:
The Aquarium of the Pacific is a public aquarium situated in Long Beach, California on a 5-acre site amidst Rainbow Harbor. It is placed right across the water from the Long Beach Convention Center, Shoreline Village, and the Queen Mary.
Opened in June 1998, the Aquarium of the Pacific has been a favorite tourist destination ever since. This nonprofit organization’s mission is to foster a sense of curiosity, wonder, and care for the Pacific Ocean as well as for its various inhabitants and ecosystems. It is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, adhering to its high standards for animal welfare and conservation.
There are over 100 exhibits held within the Aquarium, 19 of which are major habitats. Among the major galleries, guests can find the:
- Tropical Pacific Gallery, allowing visitors to explore the vibrant coral reefs and colorful fish species of the Indo-Pacific.
- Northern Pacific Gallery, showcasing the creatures of the cold waters of the north Pacific, such as the playful sea otters and the mysterious giant Pacific octopuses.
- Rethemed Southern California Gallery, highlighting the biodiversity of the local marine environment, like the tide pools with their fascinating inhabitants.
Several of the Aquarium’s exhibits are especially popular among guests:
- Shark Lagoon, where visitors can walk under a 35-foot-deep tank teeming with different shark species, including the mesmerizing zebra sharks and the awe-inspiring blacktip reef sharks.
- June Keyes Penguin Habitat, featuring a colony of adorable African penguins swimming, waddling, and preening themselves for the visitors’ amusement.
- Sea Otter Habitat, where guests can watch these playful creatures frolicking in their kelp forest enclosure, showcasing their impressive swimming skills and acrobatic talents.
Aside from its engaging exhibits, the Aquarium of the Pacific also offers various educational programs, interactive experiences, and special events throughout the year. The Aquarium’s goal is to not only entertain its visitors but also to educate them about the importance of marine conservation and inspire them to become stewards of the ocean.
If you are ever in the Long Beach area, visiting the Aquarium of the Pacific is an absolute must. It is a place where you can learn, be amazed, and have fun all at the same time, making it a perfect destination for a family outing, a school trip, or even a solo adventure.
