The closing date for Haunted Mansion Holiday for this holiday season at the Disneyland Resort is now known. The last day to experience this attraction before it disappears for the year will be January 21, 2024. Following this, Jack Skellington, Zero, Sally, and the rest of the Nightmare Before Christmas visitors will be saying goodbye.
Following their departures, the Haunted Mansion will close and see its exterior grounds expanded and enhanced. This will include extending the story and queue into New Orleans Square and also the addition of Madame Leota’s new curio shop near the exit of the attraction. All of these magical new additions are expected to be completed sometime in 2024. An exact completion and reopening date has not been announced.
The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland originated as an idea in the 1950s but faced delays. It finally opened in 1969, blending eerie effects with humorous elements. Imagineers like Rolly Crump and Yale Gracey contributed to its unique design. Over the years, the ride evolved, incorporating new technologies while maintaining its spooky charm. The iconic Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay during the winter season continues to add a festive seasonal twist, further enhancing the attraction’s enduring popularity.
