On December 2, 2023, actor Brie Larson was joined by a mass choir, orchestra, fanfare trumpeters, handbells, and soloists for the first night of this year’s Candlelight Processional. This annual tradition at the Disneyland Resort generally takes place on the first weekend in December and shares the story of Christmas. This year’s narrator, Brie Larson, brought heart to the narration of the Candlelight Processional. At one point, she choked up as she talk about the faith, hope, and love during the holidays. This year’s procession was beautiful as Town Square came to life in a different way for the special weekend.
Brie Larson is currently starring in Marvel Studios’ The Marvels where she plays Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers. This is a role that she has been playing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for several years. Her breakthrough role was the 2013 independent drama Short Term 12. In 2015, she starred in Room, for which she won multiple awards including Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Critic’s Choice Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and Canadian Screen Award for Best Actress. She also starred as a war photographer in Kong: Skull Island in 2017.
Throughout the ceremony, Brie Larson showed how she brings her heart to her work. While most of her narration was crisp and clear, there were multiple times throughout the night where emotion could be heard coming into her voice. At one point, she even had to cover her mouth as she choked up. The result was a moving and heartfelt performances that added to the music that was also telling the story. Her narration will undoubtably be a favorite for many who were in attendance.

The Candlelight Processional is a beautiful tradition at the Disneyland Resort. It makes for a perfect kick off for the Christmas season. While the holidays have already been celebrated for almost a month at the Disneyland Resort, for many in attendance, the Candlelight Processional weekend really kicks off the Christmas season for many people. If this year is the same as most years, Brie Larson will also be narrating on Sunday night for two more performances of the Candlelight Processional.
