Work continues at Disneyland on the transformation of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Since closing in May, things have been very busy as workers continue to make new magic in the form of the new attraction that is set to open in 2024. The most recent visual update for the transformation is the removal of the stump that was formerly at the top of Splash Mountain. Daps Magic team member Angela stopped by Disneyland on July 23, 2023 to capture the changes that can be seen from the outside on the attraction. Check out the video and photos below.

Two Transformations
The transformation of Splash Mountain to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is happening at a slightly delayed rate compared to the transformation that is happening at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort. Recently, the Magic Kingdom attraction saw the arrival of a new water tower. The Walt Disney World version of the attraction also closed before Disneyland’s.
About Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
When it opens at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, guests will be going on an all-new adventure with Tiana when the experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The new attraction will be based around a story where Princess Tiana expands following the success of Tiana’s Palace with Tiana’s Foods, an employee-owned cooperative. With this business she has transformed an old salt mind into a new thriving brand. When guests enter the attraction it will be ahead of a celebration that is being hosted by Tiana. However, some ingredients for the celebration were forgotten. This sets everyone off on a quest to find the missing ingredients… and also see the transformed salt mine and surrounding areas along the way. There will of course be some magical moments and music to be enjoyed during this adventure through the bayou.
Last year at the D23 Expo, a model of the exterior of the attraction was shown. It was on display at the Wonderful World of Dreams Pavilion during the expo. It gives a general look at what Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will look like when it opens in 2024. Check it out here:
