Five Can’t-Miss Entertainment Offerings at the Disneyland Resort This Spring

Entertainment is a huge part of any visit to the Disneyland Resort. It adds magic to the visit in a way in a unique way that is immersive, powerful, and often moving. This spring, there are plenty of different entertainment offerings that should not be missed for guests heading to The Happiest Place on Earth! However, here are the top five that should not be missed by guests visiting the Disneyland Resort this spring.

5. Disneyland Band March Along

The number of five can’t-miss entertainment offerings is the Disneyland Band March Along. The Disneyland Band March Along is a special performance that is offered daily at Disneyland. This has the Disneyland Band marching out from Sleeping Beauty Castle for a quick performance in front the castle where they are joined by Mickey Mouse and friends. After this moment, they continue to march down Main Street, USA. Once in Town Square, the band stops in front of the Main Street Train Station for another show moment with the characters. Generally it takes place around the lunch hour (12:00 PM). Check the times guide or ask a cast member for when it is offered. This is a fun performance that is full of classic Disney magic. It’s a great opportunity to hear the Disneyland Band and also see a bunch of Disney characters together!

4. World of Color – ONE

Number four on our list is World of Color – One. World of Color – ONE is the newest iteration of the incredible nighttime spectacular in Disney California Adventure in Paradise Bay. This show is about how a single ripple can generate a wave of change. It has some heartfelt moments, some awesome action moments, and a very healthy dose of Disney magic as well. This is a show that really is incredible to watch and experience. This is a show that is best to get a showpass for via the Disneyland app. There are standby opportunities but utilizing the virtual queue in the Disneyland app makes things easier. This show was presented as part of the Disney100 celebration that kicked off at the Disneyland Resort earlier this year.

3. Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off!

In the third spot on the list, the Guardians of the Galaxy dance your way over to Disney California Adventure. The Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! is offered in front of Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! It has been offered for quite some time at Avengers Campus but with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Mantis has stepped in to join the show where Gamora generally would be. This is an absolutely charming addition to the show that is quirky, hilarious, and a whole lot of fun. Catch a performance of this show soon while Mantis is still a part of the cast! It isn’t known if she is a permanent part of the show or a limited time addition.

2. Magic Happens

In second place is the popular Magic Happens parade at Disneyland. Magic Happens is the energetic parade that through Disneyland daily. Initially it appeared in the spring of 2020 for a very short run before the world shut down. Three years later, this parade is back and better than ever! It is full of energetic performers and characters who dance their way through Disneyland. The music is great, the different characters including in the parade are awesome, and there is a ton of heart to be found as well. For this reason, it is a can’t miss entertainment offering for guests visiting the Disneyland Resort as they see Mickey, Moana, the Frozen sisters, Merlin, and also some Disney royalty!

1. Wondrous Journeys

In first place is the new nighttime spectacular that is presented nightly over the skies of Disneyland. Wondrous Journeys is an animated and epic look at 100 years of storytelling from The Walt Disney Company, particularly in terms of animation. As fireworks light up the sky (on select nights), every Disney animated feature is found projected on surfaces that include Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street, USA, water screens along the Rivers of America, and also the facade of it’s a small world. Along with incredible projections and pyrotechnics, there is also an absolutely amazing musical score accompanying the show. This nighttime spectacular is packed full of magical moments that take guests on an emotional journey as night lights up with Disney magic.

There are plenty of entertainment offerings to be enjoyed at the Disneyland Resort this spring. This includes breakout bands in both parks, Spider-Man flying over the skies of Avengers Campus, and a whole lot more.     I love each of these offerings, and I totally agree with the order above. Wondrous Journeys is definitely putting up strong competition to become my favorite fireworks show. And Magic Happens is truly an instant classic. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of that parade.

    The addition of Mantis into Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! totally makes that show a must-watch for me this spring. I hope Mantis sticks around as long as possible, she’s delightful!
