Hong Kong Disneyland is celebrating A Disney Christmas with a beautiful series of concerts that will include a variety of music during “Disney Live in Concert!” This celebration will include classical concerts, jazz concerts, and music of musicals as well. All of these concerts will be offered under the backdrop of the holidays and Hong Kong Disneyland’s Castle of Magical Dreams. They will also find Mickey Mouse sporting a new holiday outfit and Goofy playing the drums.
Last year, Hong Kong Disneyland offered A Magical Nighttime Symphony for two nights in December. This year’s series of concerts expands on the success of last year’s concerts. The announcement for this year’s concert series was made on social media in a post that said:
We know there’re a lot of music lovers out there in Hong Kong, especially among our fans! That’s why we hereby proudly present the “Disney Live In Concert!” holiday music celebration, launching this Christmas!
Following last year’s success, we’ve curated an even more robust musical Christmas experience this season, where Classical, Jazz, Musical and Disney classics will fill the air with holiday spirit. Hong Kong Disneyland is the perfect backdrop for world-class performing arts to thrive.
A little spoiler – you’ll see Mickey in a brand-new outfit and Goofy show off his drumming skills!
Hong Kong Disneyland Ambassador/Michael E. Moriarty
The concert will be conducted by Chiu Tsang Hei. Jazz guitarist Eugene Pao will be performing as will jazz singer Sherine Wong. Jordan Cheng and Crisel Consunji will also be bringing musical magic to the concert.
The concert will be offering classical music on November 25 and 26th with musical pieces like:
- Fantasmic
- When You Wish Upon a Star
- Tchaikovsky’s The Sleeping Beauty Suite, Op 66a: V. Waltz
- Coco Suite.
The music will be jazz for the concerts on December 2nd and 3rd. The following songs will be a part of the performances:
- Dig a Little Deeper
- You’ve Got a Friend in Me
- Cruella de Vil
- Sing, Sing, Sing
Finally, the Musical will be celebrated during concerts on December 9th and 10th. The following songs will be included in these performances:
- Beauty and the Beast
- A Whole New World
- We Don’t Talk About Bruno
- Step in Time
Hong Kong is open for international travel so travelers from around the globe could make their way to Hong Kong Disneyland to experience one of these holiday concerts in front of the castle. A Disney Christmas will be celebrating the holidays at Hong Kong Disneyland from November 2022 through early January 2023.
