HONG KONG, JANUARY 28, 2024 — Last night, Hong Kong Disneyland was filled with the enchanting sounds of piano music as the world-famous pianist Lang Lang presented his one-night-only event, “Disney Classic Live in Concert Presents Lang Lang,” on the stage of the Castle of Magical Dreams for the first time.
Inspired by the theme song “Love the Memory” from the Nighttime Spectacular “Momentous,” Lang Lang and a talented string quartet, under the baton of guest conductor Chiu Tsang Hei, blended classic Disney melodies with stunning visual effects, including projection mapping and engaging storytelling. Guests were fully immersed in an unforgettable 45-minute musical journey.
The concert featured a total of 14 beloved classic tunes such as “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film The Lion King, “Let It Go” from Disney Animation’s Frozen, “It’s a Small World,” and many more.
Mickey Mouse was the first to join Lang Lang on stage, unveiling the musical journey. As Lang Lang brought each note to life, beloved Disney friends made appearances one by one, including Mickey Mouse, Elsa from the Frozen films, Miguel from the Pixar Animation Studios film Coco, Belle and Beast from Disney Animation’s Beauty and the Beast, and many more.
Lang Lang expressed his excitement about the concert, saying, “Having a live concert in front of a Disney castle has always been a dream of mine. I’m thrilled that my dream has come true last night at Hong Kong Disneyland! Disney’s stories and music have played a significant role in my childhood and inspired my musical journey greatly. Through Disney’s unique storytelling, I hope this show will offer the audience an innovative perspective to appreciate classical music.”

Lang Lang shared his music journey with young passionate talents
Following the concert was a special 30-minute exclusive session where Lang Lang interacted with around 10 selected young talents from local schools and community organizations. Among them was a musician with visual disabilities from the Arts With the Disabled Association Hong Kong, and a wish child from Make-A-Wish Hong Kong. They aspire to become pianists and eagerly awaited the opportunity to meet Lang Lang in person.
Lang Lang shared his experiences and insights performing on an international stage. HKDL believes this unique encounter will inspire and motivate these budding talents to pursue their dreams.
