Gregg Field and the Disneyland Resort 2022 All-American College Band Bring the Beat to Disney California Adventure

Producer, musician, and educator Gregg Field and the Disneyland Resort 2022 All-American College Band brought the beat to the Hollywood Backlot Stage at Disney California Adventure on August 4, 2022. Together they brought the music of Count Basie, Mancini, and more to life on a beautiful night at the Disneyland Resort. The night was made even more special as 40 years prior, Field had performed at the Carnation Plaza Gardens Stage with Count Basie himself. It was also noted that this was around the 30th year that Field had worked with the Disneyland Resort All-American College Band.

Gregg Field and the Disneyland Resort 2022 All-American College Band

Gregg Field has a long and storied career in music that began when he was 19. He toured with Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra during his career. He also can be heard on Sinatra’s multi-platinum Duets and Duets II recordings. He also has collaborated with other musicians including Michael Buble, Placido Domingo, Pharrell Williams, Josh Groban, Garth Brooks, Alejandro Sanz, Stevie Wonder, Barbara Streisand, and Quincy Jones.

Field has also performed with many major symphonies. He has performed with symphonies in London, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Nashville, and Pittsburgh along with the National Symphony in Washington, D.C. He was invited by both Presidents Bush and Obama to perform at the White House as well.

His career has included work on many albums. This has garnered him both Emmy and Grammy awards. He also works regularly with PBS as a producer including for the In Performance at the White House series. Field is also a regular producer for the Los Angeles Philharmonic-Hollywood Bowl summer series. Along with that, he is an author and contributor for Vanity Fair.

Field currently also serves as chairman of the Board of Councilors at the USC Thornton School of Music, on the Library of Congress–“Gershwin Prize” Advisory Board, as a board member of the University of Miami Frost School of Music, and as a governor for The Recording Academy. He is also married to singer Monica Mancini, the daughter of composer Henry Mancini.

Gregg Field is one of the multiple guest clinicians that worked with the Disneyland Resort 2022 All-American College Band. The clinicians work with the band and then perform with them. The summer season for the band continues through August 12, 2022.
